Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our Lead Counsel by drafting documents, assisting with client intake, providing updates and constant communication with clients, managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting in various aspects of the estate planning and probate processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Drafting and Management:
    • Draft legal documents, including wills, trusts, probate filings, and business formation documents.
    • Prepare and file documents with courts and administrative agencies.
    • Organize and maintain both physical and electronic case files.
  • Client and Witness Interaction:
    • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other professionals involved in cases.
    • Assist in interviewing clients and witnesses, documenting information for attorney review.
    • Attend client meetings and assist in taking notes, ensuring that key information is accurately recorded and organized.
  • Trial and Hearing Support:
    • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and supporting materials.
    • Coordinate witness schedules and prepare necessary documentation for hearings.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Manage legal calendars, tracking deadlines and court dates.
    • Provide general administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the firm.
  • Legal Research and Case Preparation:
    • Conduct thorough legal research to support attorneys in case preparation.
    • Summarize cases and prepare comprehensive reports.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies from an ABA-approved program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in estate planning, probate, or business law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, TX Docs) and case management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with e-filing systems and court procedures.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Notary Public certification.

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
