Paquin Law, PLLC is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented bilingual English/Spanish Legal Case Manager or Paralegal to assist with a high-volume plaintiff-side consumer protection practice, with a focus on solar-related consumer matters and arbitration.
This is a remote independent-contractor position, expected to start at approximately 30 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing over time. Although the position is remote, availability during Texas business hours is required.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, responsive, and comfortable managing client communications, cases, and a large number of moving pieces. This role is especially focused on client intake and communication with Spanish-speaking clients, so fluency in both spoken and written Spanish and English is required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting client intake calls in English and Spanish;
- Communicating directly with clients regarding case status, documents, deadlines, and next steps;
- Gathering facts from clients and helping organize client narratives;
- Requesting, collecting, and organizing client documents;
- Maintaining organized electronic case files;
- Tracking follow-ups, client tasks, attorney tasks, deadlines, and case milestones;
- Drafting and revising case-related correspondence, factual summaries, and legal-support documents;
- Assisting with arbitration pleadings, filings, hearing preparation, document organization, and case coordination;
- Helping maintain and improve templates, checklists, workflows, and case-management systems.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English is required;
- Must be comfortable conducting client intake and communicating professionally with Spanish-speaking clients;
- Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, case manager, intake specialist, litigation coordinator, or similar legal-support role required;
- Experience in consumer law, plaintiff-side work, arbitration, litigation, personal injury, construction, or another high-volume legal practice is helpful;
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment;
- Comfort using cloud-based systems, email, Microsoft Word or Google Docs, PDF tools, video meetings, and electronic file-management systems;
- Formal paralegal certification is welcome but not required. Practical experience communicating with clients, managing legal matters, staying organized, and moving a high-volume caseload forward is more important for this role.
Compensation will be hourly and commensurate with experience, availability, and fit for the role. Applicants should include their hourly compensation expectations when applying.
