Estate Planning, Probate, and Guardianship Paralegal

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estate Planning, Probate & Guardianship Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling estate planning, probate, and guardianship matters. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding client service.

Key Responsibilities

·        Estate Planning

• Draft estate planning documents, including Wills, Revocable Living Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Medical Powers of Attorney, Directives to Physicians, HIPAA Authorizations, and related documents.
• Coordinate estate planning signings, witness arrangements, and notarizations.
• Assist clients with trust funding and asset transfer documentation.
• Prepare deeds, beneficiary designation forms, and transfer documents.
• Communicate with clients regarding estate planning objectives and document execution requirements.
• Maintain estate planning files and ensure documents are properly executed and stored.
• Support trust administration matters as needed.

·        Probate & Guardianship

• Prepare and file probate and guardianship petitions and related court documents.
• Draft pleadings, notices, inventories, accountings, annual reports, and correspondence.
• Monitor court deadlines, hearing schedules, and filing requirements.
• Coordinate service of process and ensure compliance with court requirements.
• Communicate with clients, family members, guardians, fiduciaries, medical providers, and court personnel.
• Gather and organize financial, medical, and legal records for court filings.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Track estate and guardianship assets and assist with fiduciary accounting.
• Maintain accurate client files and case management records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and/or guardianship.
• Experience drafting legal documents and managing case files.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
