Litigation Paralegal – 5+ Years Civil Litigation Experience
R L Wilson Law Firm is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our San Antonio
office. We are a small but highly active real estate litigation practice handling complex, fast-moving
matters involving Texas real property disputes, transactions, and related litigation.
This position is designed for a self-directed, highly organized paralegal who thrives in a demanding
environment and takes ownership of their work. Our practice is fast-paced, detail-intensive, and
client-driven. We expect every team member to operate with initiative, precision, professionalism, and
a strong sense of accountability.
This is a hands-on litigation role with meaningful responsibility and direct involvement in case
progression from intake through resolution.
Core Responsibilities
• Manage and track an active litigation docket across multiple real estate matters.
• Review, organize, and summarize case files, title documents, discovery materials, and other
litigation records.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, affidavits, correspondence, and other
legal documents.
• Assist attorneys with all aspects of preparation for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
• Organize and prepare trial materials, exhibits, witness files, and trial notebooks.
• Analyze records and evidence, including property, title, and transactional documents.
• Prepare case summaries, status reports, timelines, and litigation updates.
• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and court personnel.
• Monitor court dockets, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, hearings, and other critical dates.
• Prepare and electronically file documents with Texas state courts and, when applicable, federal
courts.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing entries and case tracking.
• Support attorneys with general case management in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications
• Minimum of five (5) years of substantive paralegal experience in non-family civil litigation is
required.
• Strong working knowledge of Texas state court practice, procedures, and deadlines; federal court
experience is a plus.
• Experience with contract, commercial, property, or real estate litigation is strongly preferred.
• Must be experienced with electronic filing systems, court dockets, and monitoring court deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience assisting attorneys with hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial
preparation.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters, competing priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong legal drafting, research, proofreading, and document-analysis skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with litigation and case-management
platforms is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
• Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
